It's the most wonderful time of the year
...And my favourite season ever!
So it's less than two weeks till Christmas Day (Eeek!). Like me, you've probably consumed your body weight in mince pies, got merry on mulled wine and watched The Holiday and Love Actually (my absolute faves!) at least twice. Sound about right? Well this time last year I was just about to head off to what I'm sure is one of the most festive places in the world... Berlin! So as I write this blog I'm listening to one of the cheesiest Christmas album known to man on Spotify and feeling very nostalgic and very festive indeed!
I had a tough end to 2017 which at the time felt like the end of the world, but it actually was one of the most enlightening experiences of my life. I felt as though someone looked down on me and went "So, there are two huge things in your life that are not right. I'm going to take them both away from you, throw everything up in the air and then it's up to you to put those pieces back together". I must admit the timing wasn't ideal. 3 weeks before Christmas, my favourite time of year. But seeing me down and not looking forward to Christmas at all, my mum booked her and I a surprise mini break to Berlin for 3 nights and it was AMAZING!
Imagine the most fairy light-adorned, over-the-top Christmas dressed house, then triple it. That's what Berlin at Christmas looks like. Lights everywhere. Little stalls selling handcrafted ornaments, cheese, cakes, soap... you name it. The most amazing ice rinks you've ever seen with benches around the outside where you can enjoy a mug of mulled wine in various flavours. If you're a foodie like me then you won't be disappointed. There are SO any places to eat, whether you try the local cuisine or stick to what you know, there's no shortage of choice for a bite to eat!

Lots of Christmas love,
